Why become a Flower Team working member at Native Hill?

Our working members are looking for a deeper connection with nature, their farmers, local agriculture, and their community. They like to work hard, get dirty, create beauty, be part of a team, and meet other working members that share common interests and values. Oh, and of course, they love locally grown flowers, veggies, and enjoy working for their share in the season’s bounty. Working members work hard AND have a ton of fun and usually return back for many seasons to come!

The Program:

The goal of a working member’s time spent on the farm is to work efficiently in the field and in the design space to create beautiful offerings for market. Native Hill Farm depends on its working members to get a large amount of work done well and efficiently. This is NOT a volunteer position. We will only accept applicants that fit into our schedule, and because we are compensating them for their time, we consider them an integral part of the farm team. Working members commit to a REGULAR (3) hour shift for the entirety of our market season. Shifts are 6:30am-9:30am on either Tuesday or Thurday mornings. In exchange for their work, they receive their hourly rate ($12 per hour worked) in flowers and produce from our Farmer’s Market stand and Farm Stand.

Requirements:

  • Must be able to commit to 20 of the 24 weeks of our flower season (mid May – end of October)

  • Must be available for the entire duration (3 hours) of one of our designated working member shifts

  • Must be in good physical condition and enjoy working outdoors in all types of weather

  • Be on time and ready to work when you get to the farm!

Compensation: $12/hr ($36/week) in Farm credit to be used at the Farm Stand or the Farmer’s Market
